South Africa’s Sheryl Botes takes Over as Senior National Women’s Football Head Coach

Sheryl Botes, a South African national is the new head coach of the senior National women’s football team, the Crested Cranes Cranes.

 

The local football federation president, Moses Magogo unveiled the new coach at a press briefing Wednesday morning.

 

She takes over a position that was declared vacant nearly eight months ago. Two Ugandans including Ayubu Khalifa and most recently Charles Ayieko held the position in an interim capacity.

 

Botes has previously been the coach of the South African Women’s Soccer Academy and former head coach of Banyanabanyana.

 

She joins the Crested Cranes Cranes on a three-year contract with the Federation of Uganda Football Association-FUFA.
