Kabale municipality authorities on Friday commissioned projects worth Shillings 2.68 billion.
They include the Shillings 920 million Rutoma Health Centre III in the northern division that was constructed by Geses Uganda Limited, a Shillings 835 million health workers house and shillings 81 million theatre at Kamukira Health Center IV in the Southern division, the Shillings 90 million renovated main hall at Kabale primary school and Shillings 755 million Kigongi Rushaki road and Bridge that connects Central and Southern Division.
Emmanuel Sentaro Byamugisha, the Kabale municipal mayor, says that the projects are part of the development the municipal authorities are implementing with funding from the government and local revenue in preparation for the elevation of the municipality to a city status come 2025.
Godfrey Nyakahuma, the Kabale Resident District Commissioner who presided over the commissioning, says that the projects are a milestone towards health services and infrastructure development. Peter Nkurunungi, the Director of Geses Uganda Limited, which built Rutooma HC3, says that the works were disturbed by thieves who were targeting to steal materials.
