Sauti za Wananchi (Voices of Citizens) is a new initiative that uses mobile phones to regularly collect information from a broad cross section of Ugandan citizens. The initiative will allow survey data to be gathered quickly and efficiently, at low cost.
Often times policy makers make decisions that impact citizen lives but the problem is that they don’t have data. They have little information of the realities facing citizens and they don’t know citizens’ opinions. Sauti za Wananchi looks at addressing this problem.
Twaweza means “we can make it happen” in Swahili. We work on enabling children to learn, citizens to exercise agency and governments to be more open and responsive in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
