Business came to a standstill at Stanbic Bank Kabale branch on Monday after police cordoned off the premises to investigate an attempted robbery over the weekend.
A detective attached to Kabale police station told our reporter on condition of anonymity that unknown robbers gained access into the bank located along Kabale main street in Central Division, Kabale Municipality through the roof in the night between Saturday and Sunday.
They attempted to break into the safe in vain. On Monday, detectives cordoned off the bank premises to investigate the break-in. Other police officers were stationed outside the bank and kept turning away customers.
At around 03:30 PM customers started complaining about why investigations inside the bank have taken forever to end.
