More than 25 prosecutors have assembled before the Nakawa Chief Magistrate ahead of the scheduled arraignment of four suspects believed to have been behind the assassination of Joan Kagezi, the former Senior Principal Prosecutor.

The suspects are John Kibuuka, John Masajjage, Dan Kisekka, and Nasur Abdallah, according to a brief statement issued by President, Yoweri Museveni Sunday night announcing their arrest. The Director of Public Prosecution, Justice Jane Frances Abodo has since sanctioned murder and terror charges against the four suspects.

Kagezi, the former lead prosecutor in the July 2010 Kampala bombings, was gunned down on March 30, 2015, by assailants riding on a motorcycle in Najeera in the Kampala city suburbs when she stopped to buy groceries. Kagezi was driving with three of her four children in the vehicle when she was gunned down.
