In the Anti-Corruption Court on Friday, two Prosecution Witnesses, SSP Fred Lumala from the State House Anti-Corruption Unit and Detective Constable Emmanuel Sebyayi from Kampala Metropolitan Scenes of Crimes Office, testified in a case involving State Minister for Finance Amos Lugoloobi and alleged stolen Karamoja iron sheets.

During the trial, they informed Justice Margret Tibulya that on February 28th, 2023, they conducted a search at three crime scenes, specifically at Bisanga Village, Bbale Parish in Kayunga District, on the accused Minister’s farm. They claimed to have recovered 326 OPM iron sheets, both used and unused, from a construction site.

The sixth and seventh witnesses revealed finding the Karamoja iron sheets on the under-construction site. The officers physically presented the iron sheets in court, transported by Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions Josephine Namatovu, for tendering as Prosecution exhibits. Lugoloobi and his lawyers, John Isabirye and Tony Tumukunde, were present. The case is scheduled to resume on December 11th, 2023.
