Police authorities in Busoga East have confirmed the death of two brothers following an accident at CMS trading center in Bulamagi sub-county, Iganga district, along the Jinja-Iganga highway. The deceased have been identified as Alamanzan Iguru and Sadat Iguru. Their bodies have been transported to the Iganga General Hospital mortuary, where they await the necessary postmortem procedures.

According to eyewitnesses, the brothers were riding on a motorcycle registration number UFW 769L on Tuesday morning when they collided with a speeding trailer registration number UBL 278Y/UAL 858H. Ngobola Waiswa, a trader at CMS recounted that the motorcycle was initially carrying three passengers. However, as they reached the CMS point, one of the passengers disembarked. This sudden movement seemingly caused the motorcycle rider to collide with the fast-moving trailer.

The impact of the collision led to the brothers being thrown into the rear tires of the trailer. Their motorcycle ended up by the roadside without any significant damage. Yahaya Wankuluku, the father of the two victims, said that his sons were residents of Buluta village in Baitambogwe sub-county, Mayuge district. He explains that they were enroute to procure goods for their retail stores when the accident occurred.

Wankuluku further disclosed that the deceased brothers leave behind 11 children and wives, who are now under his care. In response to the incident, Beda Katureebe, the officer in charge of traffic at Iganga police station attributed the accident to reckless driving and overspending. He said they are working to locate the driver of the trailer.
