A 19-year-old man in Kabale has earned himself a 3-year jail term for theft of a motorcycle Registration Number UEV 327K belonging to the district. Nelson Ainembabazi alias Bashiri Abubaker Nabasa appeared on Wednesday evening before Kabale Chief Magistrate, Derrick Byamugisha.
The court heard that on September 15, 2023, while in Ruhita Cell in the Southern Division of Kabale Municipality, Ainembabazi stole a motorcycle worth Shillings 12 Million Shillings contrary to section 254(1) and 265 of the penal code act.
He was arrested on September 23, 2023, from Mbale District. Ainembabazi pleaded guilty to the charge and pleaded for a lenient sentence. In his ruling, Byamugisha said that Ainembabazi did not waste the court’s time and sentenced him to three years in Ndorwa Government Prison.
