An unidentified suspected motorcycle thief met his death at the hands of enraged Boda Boda riders in Kitantalo 1 Cell, Kitantalo Ward, Tirinyi T/ Council in Kibuku District on Monday afternoon.
According to an eyewitness, Sam Kyeita Sharif, the riders confronted the mob victim, who was in possession of a suspected stolen Bajaj motorcycle with registration number UFK 013D. When the mob demanded evidence of ownership, the suspect failed to provide any, further fueling their anger.
Fueled with rage, the Boda Boda riders armed themselves with stones, sticks, and bricks, mercilessly attacking the suspected thief until he succumbed to the injuries. Immaculate Also Emily, the North Bukedi region police spokesperson confirmed the incident, stating that investigations have already begun at Kibuku CPS vide CRB 197/023.
The body of the victim is currently at Kibuku H/C IV Mortuary, awaiting a postmortem examination. At the crime scene, police recovered the suspected stolen motorcycle.
